Class Fee:$68.00 includes use of threads

Whether it is for quilting, embellishing or simple mark making, this class explores free motion and other stitching techniques. Sketch/Stitch an Owl, write/stitch a name or poem. Doodle/stitch Applique, Bobbin-work and even add colour with pencils, paint and even decorative stitches! Your sewing machine can be an expression of your skills through thread, fiber and stitch!

Supply List:

Your sewing machine and all its attachments needed for free motion sewing and quilting with a walking foot

Free motion quilting gloves

Washaway Marker

Neutral colour piecing thread (for the bobbin)

Heavier thread for sketching such as Aurifil 28 weight (Thread will be available in class for sale and for sampling)

Large eye sewing machine needles such as Metallic or Topstitch size 90/14

Small assortment of fabric scraps you might like to incorporate into your sketches (eye, wing, pocket etc)

Small amount of fusible web, lightweight

15” batting squares (same number as your muslin squares below)

Fabric: 1 metre muslin (bleached or unbleached natural)

Preparation: Wash and dry the fabric to eliminate shrinkage

Cut or rip into 15” squares (approximate)
